I been looking for a place to buy a union jacket and I came across your site.I was reading some peoples comments the one that caught my eye was the one with the gentleman with the same problem as me.My local bought jackets from a local store specifically told them we wanted American Made to my understanding it was the stores mistake our local issued the jackets to us anyways.So I refuse to wear mine.The union logo on a jacket that's made in China is a disgrace to the union.Why does our union leaders allow this?I have been hevily involved in the local for years far as holding offices as stewart committee man president and vice president.Thats sad Im beginning to be ashamed of the union.So is there any place in the UAW I can get this problem solved Thank You very much |

Excellent article by Tim Sugrue. Like Firefighters, Letter Carriers sometimes get a bum rap. A lot of people think that we just take a stroll and sit around shooting the bull. I have worked for the USPS since June 16, 1979 and have seen a lot of changes, but one thing remains. We work 8 hours for 8 hours pay. I have been a proud member of NALC since I started and in 2010 was appointed steward then elected local President of NALC 1127. It is a job I did not take lightly, as I see the contract violations that occur everyday. I think the average person on the street respects us, but has no idea what we really go though. I really wish that people could walk with me all day, and then see how I am when I get home after literally pounding the pavement for almost 7 hours. I am not complaining though, because I took the career and have endured and enjoyed it at the same time. Mike Kurz |
